Save Abandonded Babies Awareness Runs
Chrome Kitten Cruisers - Chicago, Illinois

In July 2005, the Chrome Kitten Cruisers hosted their first annual 120-mile cafe run.

The run was designed to promote awareness of the Illinois Newborn Infant Protection Act,
commonly referred to as the Safe Haven law, which gives a parent a safe and legal
alternative to unsafe infant abandonment.

Unharmed infants 3 days old or younger can be relinquished with no questions asked to any
designated safe haven in Illinois: hospitals, emergency care facilities, staffed fired stations
or police stations.

A special
thank you goes out to the motorcycling community as a whole! People were so
generous in buying raffle tickets, t-shirts and pins. The number of unsolicited cash
donations blew us away.
